I bought a suit this weekend. It’s black with pinstripes, and serves the purpose of me looking nice at any future job interviews I may have, and that’s it.
Went to see Wall-E with Michelle too. Very good movie, I really enjoyed it. Go see it if you can afford the ridiculous movie ticket prices these days. :P Totally worth it. Fun for the whole family. :D
NewEgg is amazing. I had ordered a low profile bracket kit from them and a crappy graphics card, and I got the graphics card but not the kit, so I joined NewEgg’s live chat customer support, and like 5 minutes later, I had a free replacement coming my way. You freaking can’t get support like that anywhere else; maybe not even from Apple!
Session B started today. Parking got a little worse, but it’s not terrible. My history class seems pretty boring so far (I’m sitting in it right now). As far as my Session A class goes, I’m really enjoying it. ISDS 4123 is probably my favorite class thus far in my college career.
Been thinking about the future a lot, lately. Kind of scared, kind of excited. I really wish I was all graduated and stuff though. I hate school.
One: I’ve been watching this drama/romance anime called “Bokura ga Ita.” I really like it so far; only on episode 5 though.
Two: I’ve been having this stupid song stuck in my head, thanks to my coworker, Eric.
Three: I had a #3, but I forgot it when I wrote #2, cause that song took over my head. So instead, I’m just going to pimp my forum again. We’ve got about 11 unique members so far, though maybe 4 or 5 of them are active. It’s not super awesome or anything, but, if you’re reading this, it can be better if you join and post. :D
I spent my weekend with Michelle, who came up to Baton Rouge, and I’d like to outline some key points and talk about some of them!
-Saw Get Smart, which was absolutely hilarious. Steve Carrell has got to be my favorite actor. He’s just naturally funny and he was really perfect for this part. He can take an everyday phrase or action and make it funny just by the way he says it or by his facial expressions…or by any other means at his disposal. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s a very funny part of this movie involving a swordfish (not that this part has to do with Steve Carrell).
-Did a lot of cooking, which was fun. The only thing I don’t like about cooking is the cleanup and some things about preparation, like cutting chicken.
-Ate at Mellow Mushroom for the first time. Their pizza was good, kind of pricey and not that special, but good. Their dough was really the best part though. I actually ate the crust, which I rarely do.
-Went and saw Keith Carroll’s condo, which is very nice and Keith Carrolly.
-Watched The Other Boleyn Girl. Natalie Portman has got to be one of the best, if not the best female actress of our time. She portrays her characters so well. In everything I’ve seen her in, regardless of the quality of the rest of the movie, she’s always been absolutely and completely convincing and fantastic. I also like Scarlett Johansson as an actress, don’t get me wrong, but I think this movie showcased Natalie Portman’s acting skill a lot better.
I think that’s it for the weekend.
I have a 2 page paper due in my security class this Friday. Can’t say I’m too excited about that, as some of it requires a little bit of research. I have some of it written already though, so we’ll see about that. I also have a tech conference at work this week that I am presenting at. I won’t say that I’m excited about that, but I think it’ll be interesting.
I’m at my sister’s house right now stealing my nephew’s (unsecured) wireless on my Smart Phone, and I thought, “It’s a perfect time to inphiltrate!” So that means you all get a pointless inphiltration. Well, I do have something to write about, so it shouldn’t be that bad.
Yesterday when I was driving from the open CEBA lot to Nine Dragon, I noticed a truck that pulled into the wrong entrance of the lot just to cut in front of another car so they wouldn’t have to wait to turn in.
And you know, the fact that they went up a one way street going the wrong way doesn’t really bother me – it’s that he was so impatient that he just had to do that. In fact, I think Friday was ‘drive like a jackass day’ because I ran into a bunch of people that just didn’t know how to drive (okay, I didn’t literally run into them…you know what I mean).
I don’t understand people that just sit there when you’re behind them. Like, I don’t care if you don’t know which way you’re turning – don’t just sit there. Pick a direction and freaking turn. Don’t turn your issues into a problem for the people behind you. :/
Anyway. Ron Paul dropped out of the presidential race, so I guess that means I’m going to support Obama, though I likely won’t vote. I may be a Republican, but I’m not supporting a neocon. They’re the reason everyone hates my party right now. I’ll stick with traditional conservative values, kay thanks.
I guess I’m done now. My fingers are geting tired from typing on here anyway. :P
I started writing about my weekend a couple days ago, and I realized that I am awful at recounting events and making them sound interesting. I’m going to try again, though.
My weekend started on Friday afternoon a little later than usual. I left Baton Rouge for Houma and did a little bit of shopping before Michelle got off of work. We did some fun stuff on Saturday that I think we both really enjoyed. Here’s what I learned:
-McDonald’s chicken biscuits are pretty good
-Zen in Houma is a good hibachi place with at least one very awesome hibachi chef
-Japanese horror movies are still ridiculous and hard to understand!
I’ve got other pictures, but I haven’t put them on my computer yet.
Now, for a quick technology chat. The board I bought for my Wolfdale CPU isn’t compatible with the damn thing, so it underclocks to 1.6GHz (Gigabyte’s website for CPU/mobo compatibility is pretty confusing. I didn’t notice the key as to what N/A meant, and since when does N/A mean “not supported”?). I am RMA’ing the board, and I already bought a new one, so we’ll see how that goes. And my Core 2 Quad desktop is all working again. Remind me to *head desk* about that one later.
So, in one of my never-ending fits of boredom, I finally decided what I wanted to do with wethemeek.net, and I’ve gone and created a forum with it. I know what you’re thinking: “…why???”
Honestly, I love forums and tight-knit communities and it’s just hard to find them. So, out of desperation, I’m just trying to create my own. I’m well aware that no one will join and post, but I’m linking to it anyway in hopes to prove myself wrong.
If anyone remembers our old lulingcrew.com forum/website, I just want to give a heads-up: that domain is expiring and I’m not renewing it. If anyone is interesting in taking lulingcrew.com from me, then be my guest. Otherwise, it’ll expire.
