Baton Rouge

I took a drive around the LSU lake and through the garden district today.

I really love this city. It’s so beautiful sometimes.

Creed Pants Panic

I dropped a Benjamin on a Creed ticket yesterday. I could’ve spent $50. I could’ve spent $70. Not good enough! Instead, I spent $98 on a general admission ticket (aka, floor, closest tickets to the stage).

Speaking of concerts, WHY DIDN’T I GO TO VOODOO FEST LAST YEAR? D:

What a great cover! :D

I’ve been listening to old Panic(!) At the Disco like crazy lately, and I’m really starting to miss it. The best word I can use to describe it is “exciting,” and I’m not sure of any other music I’d describe that way. This is the only band in my top 4 favorite bands that I’ve yet to see and have no plans to see. I wish they’d come back to Louisiana and actually go somewhere besides Shreveport or Voodoo Fest. :(

Earlier this week, I managed to set a new personal record by going to Buckle 4 times within 6 days. I got a pair of pants that I’m currently wearing (they’re pretty amazing, even though they’re at least a shade lighter than pants I’d normally buy). The fact that I only bought pants is pretty amazing, but I will probably buy a shirt soon too.

Today at work, I found out I have Monday off. I did not know this, and it made me pretty happy.

*sigh* I’ve been meaning to update this for a while and I forgot most of what I wanted to say. I need to Tweet blog ideas instead of random crap. :P

Buckle

I decided yesterday after accidentally dropping some food on one of my favorite shirts (shirt’s fine, I just needed to change) that I needed to start buying only brightly colored shirts (for now, at least). My two favorite shirts are bright blue and bright green, so I guess this only makes sense.

I went to the mall today to look for shoes, but I made the mistake of going to Buckle, and ended up looking at shirts for like 30 minutes instead. The problem with Buckle is that I go in there to look at something and end up wishing I could buy like 20 things. I love the clothes in that store so much, but my tastes are too freaking expensive.

In the end, I left the mall with nothing. I wish I had someone to go to the mall with, but I don’t think I know anyone that would actually enjoy looking around in Buckle for 30 minutes like I do. :|

Mother’s Day and Camaros and More

Went to Sam’s on Saturday for a while. She was having a graduation/birthday party, and I’m always looking for something to do! Took some pictures, had a good time until my stomach started hurting, so I left. I blame the sushi I had on Friday from Drunken Fish.

My Saturday was actually sort of “FML” except for the party. None of the KFCs are accepting the coupon for the free grilled chicken (you can get a raincheck, but that wasn’t going to help me right then), and I’d spent enough eating out last week already, so I went to Subway hoping to use the last of my gift card on something only to find out that their gift card machine is broken. So I had breakfast at like 11 AM and then nothing to eat until 8 PM because of my stomach feeling awful and random fast food places being a bunch of jerks.

Had a pretty awesomely lawl-ful time on AIM late on Saturday night though, and that *almost* made up for it.

For mother’s day, my family went to eat at CafĂ© Dominque in Houma. It was amazingly delicious and probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

As we were on our way, I recognized the back of an orange car, and thought it looked familiar. “No way,” I thought. My family was in the truck, so I said, “Is that a new Camaro?” And as we got closer, it WAS. A brand freaking new orange 2010 Chevy Camaro with black racing stripes. The orange and the aqua blue metallic are my 2nd choices for color, in no particular order, so that made it even cooler that I got to see it in a color I liked. I mean, I’m sure there will be a ton of them around soon, but I’m hoping to be able to afford a rally yellow one before they’re as saturated as Mustangs (which I still like) or Chargers (which I still hate, though the new ones do look better). :P

YES PLEASE.

Creedos, Part of a Balanced Breakfast

Even though I found out on April 27th when the press release was, well…released, I haven’t written about this yet, and I think it deserves an entry of its own.

Of the few people that read this blog, even fewer of them will remember my entry from June 4th, 2004. It was entitled “RIP Creed,” and I practically almost cried with words that my favorite band in the whole world had broken up.

Throughout the years, the band went their separate ways. Scott Stapp went solo and never sounded the same. Alter Bridge formed and didn’t really sound too much like Creed, but they were good.

Five years passed.

And…now I can say something that I never thought I would be able to say. My favorite band ever, the band with the jackass lead singer…the band that I thought I would never be able to see live in concert…

…is back. Creed is officially back together, as of April 27, 2009. I wish I could travel back in time and tell myself this on June 4th, 2004. I have no idea if Scott Stapp can still sing well. Like I said, in his solo album, his voice sounded a bit off, but at this point, I don’t even care. They’re releasing a new CD, tentatively called Full Circle and they are going to be in New Orleans AND Lafayette in September. I have never been so excited about a music announcement before in my life. I Tweeted this already, but I’ll say it again: my year is officially made.

I will end this entry with my favorite song. This song has been my favorite song for about four years. Before that, “My Own Prison” was my favorite song for about the same amount of time.

“Torn” by Creed.

“Twitter is the dialtone of the 21st century.” – Leo Laporte

I probably sound like a big Microsoft hater on Twitter sometimes. I guess I have to sacrifice certain attributes of my opinion to create a proper 140 character Tweet. :P

My car battery died today. It was a big pain, but I got it replaced thanks to a bunch of people jumping me throughout the day.

I started a new blog on grammar and language. I know that doesn’t sound exciting, but I’m mostly writing it for me so it doesn’t have to be.

Last but not least, here’s another video I took at the show a couple weekends ago.
