I’m sure no one noticed, but my site was down for about a day starting sometime yesterday. The guy that was letting me host with him for free had to let his hosting lapse for this month, and even though he let me know over a week ago, I still put off finding a different way to keep inphiltrate running. I’m currently hosting with Nexx, which cost a grand total of $9.95 for 1 year with the coupon code “FREE1.” I miss having cPanel (seriously, custom control panels are never as good), but other than that, so far, so good.
Site news aside, I don’t have much to say except that I’m really excited for Panic! At the Disco’s new album (and man, it feels good to have that ! back in there).
I had a dream last night that one weekend, I decided I was bored and went to Britain. I had no idea what city I arrived in, and I kept asking people where I was, but everyone would either ignore me or pretend like they didn’t understand the question.
I found that absolutely fascinating when I woke up because in the dream, I knew I wasn’t in a major city, and the only British cities I know of are major ones. Apparently my brain didn’t compensate for this by making up city names, but instead by having my dream ignore me. I almost want to restart my dream blog because of that dream.
Most “like a boss” experience:
Studying 45 minutes for the GRE and subsequently getting into grad school with that score.
Biggest new obsession:
Best new movie:
I can’t decide between Inception and The Social Network. Honestly, I wanted to put Avatar here because I saw it in 2010, but it came out in 2009 so I guess it doesn’t count. Honestly, I can’t think of any truly exceptional movies that came out in 2010.
Getting my old MacBook Pro replaced with a brand new one under Apple Care 17 days before it expired.
I’m really not good at upholding New Year’s Resolutions. The only one I’ve really ever continuously worked on was to become ambidextrous, and I’m probably about 1/4 of the way there on that one (at least, with writing).
Last year I made a list, and after going through the 10 things I wanted to get done in 2010, I only accomplished one thing and half of another (although out of some of those things, I decided I didn’t want to do a few of them).
This year I’m going to try a similar list. I know it’s a few days late, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on these things anyway.
1) Tell people what’s on my mind, whether I think they’ll like it or not.
2) Become better at composing my thoughts when talking with someone so that I don’t feel twenty times dumber when speaking rather than writing.
3) Finish writing and editing We Put the ‘Dual’ in ‘Individual.’
4) Find another part-time writing job.
5) Blog more often. :)
