For my About Me page, I decided one of these long quiz things would cover pretty much everything, so here you go. I first did this one in about 2004 and have updated the answers many times.

  • Are you named after anyone?: My dad and I guess my brother, who was named after Daniel Boone.
  • Pets: A Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Lily. Two yellow-bellied slider turtles named Bit and Byte (their names are very fitting). Also a adopted cat named Yuna, but I call her Chibers.

  • Medical issues: Neuropathy, a bit of lactose intolerance (maybe?), and I’m extremely near-sighted if that counts.

  • Best kind of music: Electro-anything, Pop-Punk, Post-Grunge, and Country are mostly what I listen to. I like something about most genres of music, and I’ve found that appreciating music as a whole rather than one type of music is much more fulfilling.
  • What are your favorite clothing brands?: J.Crew, Express, Allen Edmonds, Vans
  • What hospital were you born in?: I think Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC), which is in Houma, LA.
  • Which celebrity has the best hair?: Utada Hikaru, Zooey Deschanel, and Katy Perry (straight, dark/black hair is pretty).
  • What do you wear to bed?: Boxers and a T-shirt pretty much year round.
  • What kind of socks do you wear?: No-show socks with sneakers, ridiculous socks from Richer-Poorer.
  • What kind of toothpaste do you use?: Crest Vivid White Refreshing Mint
  • What kind of shampoo?: Usually just whatever the girlfriend buys.
  • What brand is your TV?: Vizio/Westinghouse.
  • Have you ever done any extreme sports?: Sports and I don’t get along very well.  I’ve been white water rafting on level 3 and 4 rapids, if that counts.

  • Stores: Basically just J.Crew.
  • Poems: Creed lyrics – seriously. “But she could not hide her tears, ‘Cause they were sent to wash away those years,” still gets me. Fall Out Boy lyrics are great too because of the amazing one-liners.
  • TV shows: Lost, Smallville, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, The Office, Outlaw Star, Futurama, Arrested Development, One Piece, The Walking Dead, Community, South Park, Breaking Bad, Mr. Robot
  • Favorite Actress(es): Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel. I will watch *any* movie with Natalie Portman because she truly makes characters come to life, and, well…who doesn’t like Zooey Deschanel?
  • Favorite Actor(s): Leonardo DiCaprio and Hugo Weaving.  Shutter Island is probably my favorite display of Leo’s acting, and I don’t think I know of any other actor that gets into character like Hugo Weaving.  He was perfect in the Matrix and V for Vendetta.
  • Male singer: Brendon Urie is my favorite singer.  Others are Patrick Stump and old school Scott Stapp.
  • Female singer: Lady Gaga, Utada Hikaru, and Katy Perry.

  • Movies: Speed Racer, V for Vendetta, Avatar, Walk the Line, Goldeneye, The World is Not Enough, Jurassic Park, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Office Space, The Matrix Trilogy, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Equilibrium (not necessarily in that order).
  • Musical: The Producers (remake or original) and Across the Universe.
  • Song: “Torn” by Creed is my favorite song of all time.
  • Music Video: “My Sacrifice” by Creed and “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” by Panic! at the Disco. “A Little Less Candles, A Little More Touch Me” by Fall Out Boy is pretty funny, and “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” by Lady Gaga are pretty crazy.
  • Vegetable: Broccoli
  • Meal: Pho tai, Boudin omelet at the Chimes, steak and baked potato, a good pasta dish…I’m not too picky.
  • Soda: Root Beer (basically any made with cane sugar), Surge, Mountain Dew Code Red

  • Alcoholic drink: Margarita on the rocks, coconut rum and Sprite/Coke, original Strongbow (RIP :( ), Redds Strawberry Ale.
  • Cheese: Mild cheddar and mozzarella.
  • Fast Food Place: Popeye’s, Five Guys. I don’t really like chain fast food places as much when I can go to Roul’s for a dollar more.
  • Eat-in: The Chimes, Wahada, Waka House, Sa Dec, Dang’s, Drunken Fish, Duang Tawan
  • Snack to munch on: Cookies, pastry type stuff…whatever I feel like at the moment.
  • Kind of pizza: White pizza (spinach and cheese), deep dish cheese, and thin crust pepperoni are all pretty good.
  • Ice cream: Pumpkin is my favorite. Green tea is probably second.
  • Bread: Garlic bread and honey wheat bread are both pretty delicious.
  • Pastry: Cake donuts and apple fritters from Mr. Ronnie’s in Houma. Soooo freaking good.
  • Cereal: Frosted Mini Wheats. Kind of grew up on those things.
  • Meat: Nothing in particular, as long as it’s beef or seafood, I probably love it. Chicken and pork are okay, but secondary for me.
  • Holiday: Christmas (how generic, I know). I just like the mood of the season.  Thanksgiving’s a close second.
  • Sport to play: None.

  • Thing to do in winter: Building a fire outside is nice.
  • Thing to do in summer: Stay inside because it’s too hot…or go to the beach.
  • Thing to do on weekends: Stuff with my family/friends, sleep late, stay up late.
  • Vacation spot: Tough call.  I like the beach, but lately I’ve really liked the mountains.  North Carolina is nice.
  • Dream vacation spot: Glorious Nihon.
  • Thing to do on a rainy day: Stay inside and watch anime.
  • Thing to do on a sunny day: Looking for a twisty road in Miku (my car).
  • Color: Blue, yellow, green, orange, and black, but not together or anything.

  • Kind of car: My favorite car is the Corvette ZR1, but realistically, I’d like to own a Z06 one day. I also like the Nissan GT-R and obviously the Subaru BRZ.

  • Place in your house: Depends on the time of the day.  Usually the living room.
  • Place to be alone: My car. Lucky for me, because I’m alone in it a lot.
  • Kind of house: Contemporary things.  I don’t like old or dated-looking designs.
  • Place to live: I’ve only lived in two (technically three) cities/towns in one state, so out of those, Baton Rouge.
  • Memory from childhood: Probably fishing or something with my dad/mom/brother.

  • Have you ever done drugs?: Not illegal ones.  I completely support legalization of them, though.

  • Have you ever passed out or thrown up from drinking too much?: I haven’t just straight passed out from drinking, but I have just been like, “Being awake isn’t working for me anymore” and went to bed.
  • What’s your favorite bar?: Does Pat O’s count? I am not really a fan of bars.
  • Did you go to prom in high school?: I didn’t go to my prom, but I went to someone else’s.
  • How many continents have you been to?: One.
  • How many countries have you been to?: One.
  • What color are the socks you’re wearing right now?: Blue/gray with dinosaurs on them.
  • What was your last vacation?: North Carolina exactly a year ago (August 2014)
  • Do you have any future vacations coming up?: North Carolina next month :D (September 2015)
  • Do you have any tattoos?: Negatory.
  • Do you have anything pierced besides your ears?: Nope.
  • Do you own a car?: No, I hate cars. /sarcasm

  • Do you have long fingernails?: No.  That makes it hard to type on my iPhone.
  • What are some of your pet peeves?: I hate unorganized clutter, I don’t like it when people say things or hint at things to purposely piss me off, I don’t like it when people pretend like they know what they’re talking about when they have absolutely no idea, I hate meanness, and I hate when people won’t admit that they’re wrong.
  • What was your major in college: I have a B.S. degree in ISDS, and I’ve taken three courses towards an ISDS Masters with no intentions of finishing.
  • Do you want children in the future?: Not really.  Could change, but right now definitely not.
  • Do you want to get married?: Already am. :D
  • How many fillings/cavities do you have?: None.
  • Guys or girls?: In reference to friendship: either, though sometimes I think I get along with girls better. Relationship: Girls.
  • Have you ever kissed anyone of the same sex?: No, but I have been kissed on the cheek by a guy before…as a joke.
  • Are you right or left handed?: Right, but I function pretty well with my left hand, including writing, just not very fast.
  • What is under your bed?: Nothing.  I have a platform bed that is only 7 inches off the ground.
  • What kind of housing are you in?: The house kind.
  • Have you ever been hospitalized?: When I was born and for about 3 hours when I had a kidney stone on 10-26-09.
  • Have you ever had surgery?: Yes. Wisdom teeth and a couple of outpatient steroid shots.
  • Have you ever broken a bone?: While playing tag in first grade, Sean Dupree tagged me and I fell and broke my arm. I’m not joking.
  • Have you ever had stitches?: Yes, in my mouth.

  • Peanut butter or jelly: Peanut butter is amazing.
  • Coke or Pepsi: Coke, preferably with coconut rum.
  • Drive or walk: Drive. I love driving. I also like walking, just not alone or in awful weather.
  • Traveler or homebody: Lately I’ve been doing a lot of traveling, and I really like visiting new places.  I don’t think I’d want to travel a lot, but a couple/few times a year sounds nice.
  • Ice or roller skating: Ice skating.
  • Dark hair or light: Dark.
  • Chocolate milk or regular milk: Regular Milk. Chocolate milk is good, but it’s like a snack drink to me, if that makes any sense.
  • Tall or short: For me or for a girl? Me: I like being kind of tall, so I guess tall. Girl: At least a few inches shorter than me.
  • Tan or fair skinned: Fair.
  • Books or movies: Usually movies. If Signal to Noise was made into a movie, I’d crap my pants.
  • Comedy or horror: This entirely depends on the movie.  A bad comedy is just bad.  A bad horror film can at least be a little funny (unintentionally).  Out of a really good comedy or horror, I’d probably lean slightly toward the horror film.
  • Bath or shower: Shower.
  • Lights on or off during a movie: Off.
  • Theater or video: Theater, though I do most of my media viewing at home on my computer or my TV.
  • Red or blue: Blue. It’s one of my favorite colors, after all.
  • Gold or silver: Silver.
  • Morning or night: Night.
  • Black or white: Depends what it’s on. I like black for certain things, and I like white because it’s a bright color.
  • Glass half full or half empty: I don’t believe that a glass can be half empty, so half full. To answer what this question is really asking, I’m realistic, which can sometimes be confused with being pessimistic.
