This weekend, as I’ve mentioned, was Oni-Con 2007 in Houston. We left Friday and got to the convention too late to get our convention badges, so the first day we did anything convention related was Saturday. Friday night we spent lounging around the hotel room.

The rest stop at the Texas state line, which we stopped at.

Saturday morning we went to the convention. Keith and I didn’t cosplay at all, though I think Mr. Carroll wishes he had. I had a perfectly good time not dressing up (I believe I’ve expressed in the past that I will not ever cosplay
). Michelle cosplayed Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and Sakura (Naruto) and Becca cosplayed Ino (Naruto).

Becca put a wig cap on over her head. Keep this picture away from small children.

I didn’t really care about the con itself, I just went for the good times, which there were a lot of, but I did see some cool costumes.

This Master Chief, for example, was freaking awesome.

This Big Daddy from Bioshock was also awesome.
Saturday night we went to eat at the only other close place to eat that we could find, some random Italian place, which was actually really good, though our waitress kind of sucked. We didn’t go to the rave that night because out of the three of us that wanted to go or would’ve gone, we’d all pretty much changed our minds by the time we’d gotten back from eating. That’s not to mention that Michelle started feeling sick on Saturday and I seemed to have a lesser version of whatever she had.
Sunday we got up, grabbed our crap, checked out of the hotel, and went to the convention one last time. Laura made Michelle a costume for that day, Misa from Death Note, so she wore that, even though I don’t think she really wanted to by then.

After that, we went back home, and thusly ended our weekend. I think we all had a good time, and we’ll be going to Anime South in late December, which I know I’ll like better because it’s Florida, and if you know me, you know I love Florida.
Also, all of the pictures I posted in this entry plus a lot more can be found here, in my Oni-Con gallery. As usual, click on the thumbnails to get the larger version of the photo.
